This is my first official post on our new blog, I hope that this will be a way for you all to follow what has been going on here at The Record Lounge as well a few other things.
Record Store Day is right around the corner - Saturday April 21st. Things are getting very amped up around the store. For those of you unfamiliar with Record Store Day it was started 5 years ago to help support indie record shops around the country. Now, it has bloomed into a worldwide event!
Many recording artists capitalize on this day by releasing very limited pressings of their recordings, posters and so on.
Here at The Record Lounge (111 Division), it is the biggest and best Record Store Day yet! We have at least 300 pieces of limited items on the way as well as tons of free swag for the first customers of the day.
The day will also consist of a benefit concert for the town of Dexter, Michigan that was overtaken by a tornado earlier this year, that will be held from 12-5 at Espresso Royale on Grand River. From 7-11pm, the concert will move to The Record Lounge. Local bands will be playing all day and night! The concert is free but donations will be taken for the town of Dexter throughout the day.
We will be open at 11:00 am on April 21st and will not be holding any items - it is strictly a first come first serve deal. So make sure you come early!
